Secondary School Information Nights
All About High School (Virtual)
Program Services is proudly hosting ‘All About High School’, a virtual information night for Grades 7-12 students and their parents/guardians. This year’s event will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This event is intended to support students headed into Grade 9, but students and parents/guardians from all grades are welcome to attend. ‘All About High School’ marks the start of the window for OCDSB secondary school information sessions.
Attendees will be able to watch a variety of live information sessions that will provide an overview of many aspects of secondary school, including: Pathways; Curriculum and reporting of student achievement; Athletics; Equity, including Indigenous and 2SLGBTQ+ supports; Mental health and wellness.
All About High School will be hosted through Google Meet. All information, including agenda and links, will be posted on the All About High School website. Sessions will be recorded and posted on the OCDSB YouTube channel for later viewing and for families to select language of choice.
IB Program Grade 8 Parent Information Session

What is the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP)?
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is a two-year educational Programme primarily serving students 15 to 18 years old. The Programme provides an internationally accepted qualification for entry into higher education and is recognized by colleges and universities worldwide.
In the OCDSB, students engage in the OCDSB’s pre-IBDP during grades 9 and 10 to prepare them for the challenge of the two-year Diploma Programme in grades 11 and 12. Upon successful completion, a student is expected to attain both the IB Diploma and the Ontario Secondary School Diploma.

Each Open House runs from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Families can attend both open houses. Applicants can apply to 1 program.
Grade 8 students and their families are invited to attend to learn more about the OCDSB's specialized arts programming, and about application procedures for the 2025-26 school year.
